Utilization by Charges/Costs

The Utilization Analysis by Charges/Costs section displays either charges or costs for major revenue code groupings. You may include this section in the report twice to display both charges and costs.

Column	Description
Description	Lists charges or cost groupings based on revenue codes.
Category	Categorizes the description as diagnostic, routine, therapeutic, supplies, or other.
Average	Calculates total charges/costs divided by the total number of encounters for the selected period and profile,
Total	Calculates total charges/costs for all revenue codes in the description for the selected period and profile.
Opportunity	Represents the difference between the profile and the benchmark. Cells are color-coded. If the profile has higher charges/costs than the benchmark, the cell is red. If the profile has lower charges/costs than the benchmark, the cell is green. If the two amounts are very similar in results, the cell color is white.
